Puerto Rico’s animal overpopulation crisis can’t be solved by rescue alone. There will always be more animals needing help than shelters and rescues can take in. Spaying and neutering is the most effective way to prevent unwanted litters, reduce abandonment and break the cycle before it begins (and fewer surprise puppies means more happy endings for the ones already here). At El Faro, we believe education and access to affordable spay/neuter services are key to lasting change.

Free spay/neuter, vaccination and microchipping, including mobile clinics in southeastern Puerto Rico and monthly veterinary vouchers. Their Spanish info page lists contacts for owned pets and TNR cases.

Low-cost sterilization by appointment. Published starting prices are $45 for cats, $60 for male dogs and $70 for female dogs, with possible extra charges depending on the animal.
