At approximately 5yr old Adult & 90 lbs. Mixed Breed… yes, he is OVERWEIGHT
Sirius Black came to us as a stray, and shelter life was NOT exactly his idea of a good time. He was not loving the whole kennel situation and made his opinions about it pretty clear.
Fast forward to now, and Sirius has figured out the system.
Give this 90-lb thick boy his own private area, an extra-large bed and a good toy, and suddenly life is beautiful. Those are genuinely his favorite things in the world.
Sirius loves toys, loves walks, and has plenty of energy when it's time to go. He can join a playgroup, but usually only for a couple of minutes before his energy becomes a little much for his roommates. With cats, he mostly leaves them alone.
He also has some very specific opinions about people. He has had beef with the boss for no apparent reason, and the exterminator has also made his list. Everyone else? Pretty cool.
Sirius is a big dog with a big personality who has learned that having his own space is actually pretty great. He doesn't need constant entertainment or a crowd. Give him a comfortable bed, something to play with, a good walk and a home where he can settle into his routine.
Basically: 90 lbs. of toys, beds, walks and completely unnecessary personal beef.
Shelter staff informs:
While we can't guarantee that this dog is 100% house trained, it is a very clean dog that spends days in a big outdoor run and nights in sleeping quarters. We also find no bedtime accidents in the morning. We do not know for certain how this dog would do living with children, as we do not know if it ever lived in a home environment with kids yet. However, this dog has not shown aggression toward any humans, of any age, at the shelter. As with any dog, we always recommend careful supervision and slow responsible introductions and interactions when children are involved.
Sirius is up to date on his preventatives for flea, ticks & heart worms as well as fully vaccinated and neutered.
